HKSYU has launched its own AI chatbot - HKSYU ChatGPT, that is powered by the Microsoft Azure OpenAI service. With a dedicated focus on delivering a secure and accessible AI tool tailored for the HKSYU community, the university is embarking on an inaugural one-year pilot phase of the ChatGPT platform, scheduled to commence on August 15, 2023.

Full-time teachers and students are invited to interact with the this HKSYU ChatGPT by simply visiting the platform's official website with their SYU email account credentials. Throughout the pilot phase, each staff member will be provided a monthly token allocation of 500,000, roughly equating to around 250 questions, based on an estimated prompt-response cycle of 1,600 words.

Guidelines on using generative AI in teaching, learning and assessment have been developed to facilitate effective and ethical integration of AI technology into pedagogical practices.
