DaVinci Resolve

DaVinci Resolve is a professional video editing software that offers a wide range of features:

Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe Creative Cloud is a comprehensive suite of creative software that includes a range of video editing and animation tools

Adobe Premiere Pro, a professional-grade video editing software that enables users to edit, refine, and enhance video footage with advanced features like color grading, motion graphics, and special effects.

Adobe After Effects, on the other hand, is an animation and motion graphics software that allows users to create visually stunning animations, titles, and visual effects that can be incorporated into their video projects. The software features a wide range of tools and presets for animation, motion tracking, and compositing, and can be used in conjunction with Adobe Premiere Pro for a seamless workflow.

User Guide

The Advancement of Teaching and Learning Committee (ATLC) of HKSYU will hold a variety of workshops regarding the use of technology in teaching, such as the introduction of video-editing and animation creation.

360 Camera

· 360 cameras enable users to capture a panoramic view by simultaneously recording video or taking photos in all directions.

· 360 cameras utilize multiple lenses and sensors to achieve a comprehensive 360-degree perspective.

· Virtual tours, live streaming events, and the creation of engaging content for virtual reality platforms can be created using materials filmed by the cameras.

· Captured photos and videos from 360 cameras can be utilized in the development of VR applications, facilitated by EDVR, a VR content enrichment platform designed for HKSYU teachers to create VR courseware.

· Students can conveniently access the VR content developed using EDVR easily using their mobile phones.

3D Scanner

· 3D scanners can capture the geometry of physical objects and convert them into digital models.

· The scanner projects a laser or light pattern onto the object and measures the reflected light to create a point cloud of the object's surface.

· 3D models generated by scanning can be manipulated and edited on a computer. The models then can be used for various production projects.

· There are different types of 3D scanners, including handheld, tripod-mounted, and stationary scanners.

· 3D scanner has revolutionized the production process in different industries by enabling faster, more accurate, and cost-effective design, prototyping, and manufacturing.

3D Printer

· Users can design 3D models on the computer and print them using a 3D printer.

· 3D printing finds applications in different industries such as engineering, architecture, fashion, healthcare, and education.

· Compared to traditional manufacturing methods, 3D printing enables fast and efficient creation of prototypes, models, and functional parts.

· 3D printing devices become more accessible and affordable nowadays.

VR Headset

· A VR headset offers an immersive and interactive experience in a simulated 3D environment.

· A VR headset consists of a head-mounted display and sensors to track head movements.

· VR headsets can be used for gaming, education, training, and entertainment.

· The University currently utilizes the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset in teaching and learning.

· Oculus Quest 2 is a wireless and standalone headset and was released in 2020. No PC or console is needed to run the headset.
